Kaplan's GRE® Courses is designed not only to help you build test-taking techniques, but also to foster practical skills for graduate school.
Kaplan's GRE® courses include: GRE® Perfect, GRE® Analytical Writing Plus, and GRE® Verbal Focus.
Each course offers various levels of instruction, depending on the student's English proficiency level and goals. Professional, native English-speaking GRE® instructors conduct courses entirely in English, the method shown to most quickly improve your score and to acclimate students to a pure English-speaking environment.
All Kaplan GRE® lecturers have advanced deGRE®es and professional business experience. They are valuable resources, providing students with information such as how to utilize skills gained in school in the real world. Classes are small to encourage active participation and to maximize student-teacher communication.
Kaplan's original GRE® practice tests, section workshops, and our Training Library with computers fully-loaded with exercises are GRE®at learning resources. (The monthly Training Library fee is waived for the duration of the course.)
We offer free, personalized advice to help you progress. Your private time with your advisor is a valuable opportunity to have your questions about the GRE®, graduate programs, and study problems answered. We also use the advising to help you set and reach your goals.
GRE® Perfect
Course Period: 7 or 14 Weeks
Dates: Wed 19:15-22:15 / Thu 19:15-22:15 / SAT® 14:20-17:20
Classes start every 7 weeks.
This course consists of a Verbal section (3 lessons), a Reading Comprehension section (3 lessons), an Analytical Writing section (3 lessons), and a Math Section (3 lessons). Based on Kaplan Methods, the course perfects students' problem-solving strategies, and provides students with the opportunity to apply these skills. In addition to the Course Book, students are given a Home Study Book, as well as online assignments for continous practice outside the classroom and practice tests to measure progress. Students are requested to take the GRE® Diagnostic Test before the course starts.
(TOEFL Score 550/213 and above)
GRE® Analytical Writing Plus
Course Period: 6 weeks (12 hours)
Date: SAT® 13:30-15:30
Classes start every 3 weeks.
This course is composed of an Argument Section (3 lessons) and an Issue Section (3 lessons). The Argument Section focuses on reasoning and reaching conclusions in a logical manner, as well as developing the skills to understand assumptions and how they support the main idea. The Issue Section focuses on the practical skills of clearly expressing ideas and propositions, as well as how to provide explicit supporting examples. Throughout the course, we instuct students in the elements of proper writing, including the use of transition words, readability tools, and proper organization.
(GRE® Perfect completed or TOEFL Writing Score of 3.5 and higher).
GRE® Verbal Focus
Course Period: 12 weeks (36 hours)
Dates: Sun 11:50-13:50 (at Ginza)
Classes start every 6 weeks.
This course focuses on the Verbal Section of the test to offer intensive training for those who want to focus on this area of the test. This course covers Short Verbal and Reading Comprehension in 12 classes.
