Kaplan Private / Semi-Private Lessons for Test Preparation

Duration of Lessons and Application Information
・We offer private lessons for 1 student, and semi-private lessons for 2 students.
・1 lesson is basically 3 hours. We ask that you apply for a minimum of 4 lessons (12 hours).

Tuition Fees
・The enrollment fee is ¥26,250 (tax included) and the textbook fee is given as the listed price. The textbook fee is not included in tuition costs.

Scheduling
・Please be aware that there is a chance your requested lesson schedule may not coincide with the teacher's schedule. However, we will try to accommodate your needs as much as possible.
・Please be sure to confirm your schedule (the total number of lessons) with us prior to your first private lesson.

Information Regarding Teachers
・As a general rule, you are not permitted to request teachers by name.

Absences and Schedule Changes
・Please let us know 2 days in advance by telephone (during Kaplan Center's business hours) about your absence or schedule changes.
・If you change your schedule the day before your lesson, or on the day of your lesson, you will be marked as absent on the attendance sheet.

Lesson Content
・Only the test tutoring for which you applied will be studied in the class. No other subject matter will be permitted for discussion or counseling.
・You are not permitted to discuss essay-writing or resumes.

・Please ensure that you attend your lessons within the requested time periods in the table.

・Please be aware of the period of validity of the lessons you have registered for. For lessons that you have not been able to attend, those lessons will become invalid.
・If you choose to extend the number of lessons after completing the number of lessons in the period of validity, you may do so, but please be aware that you are not permitted to extend the period of validity.

Additional Lessons
・You are permitted to attend additional lessons in the above-mentioned periods of validity. A minimum of 3 hours for an additional lesson is possible.
・After the period of validity has ended, you are permitted to register for a maximum of 4 lessons (12 hours) of additional lessons.

Training Library
・You are permitted to use Kaplan Center's Training Library within the period of your lessons.

Other Information
・Regarding the utilization of Kaplan textbooks in lessons, if you apply for 20 hours of lessons the first time you apply for private lessons, you will be eligible to use the Kaplan Online Workshop.
・Private Lessons are one-to-one (1 teacher to 1 student)
・Trial lessons are not available for private lessons.
・You are not permitted to exchange private lessons for regular existing course lessons, or have make-up private lessons at all.
・Please be aware that announcements regarding lessons are subject to change.
・Regarding method of payment, we accept bank transfers and the following types of credit cards: JCB, AMEX, Master, and Orico. Please be aware that we do not accept cash as a method of payment.

Kaplan Center Private Lessons Application Procedures

Hearing

A hearing session with you is required before proceeding with the application in order to best determine how we can help you achieve your top score! We will be asking you similar questions to the ones below.

After determining the number of lessons you plan to have, the application process begins!

We will send you the application form immediately following the hearing. Payment in full is necessary before we begin arranging your private lesson schedule. If you have any difficulty submitting your application or payment by our requested deadline, please let us know as soon as possible. After confirming payment, we will arrange your private lesson schedule. Within 1 week of confirming your payment, we will present you with your private lesson schedule.

If by any chance we are unable to arrange your private lesson schedule after receiving your payment, we will completely refund your payment (live course tuition, textbooks, and enrollment fee). If you made your payment via bank transfer, we are unfortunately unable to refund the bank transfer handling charge; however, we will of course refund your total payment, minus the handling charge.

If you have applied for an exceptionally large number of lessons, there is a possibility we may have to arrange the 1st half of the lessons in the beginning, and then arrange the latter half of the lessons when it becomes necessary.

Please note that you are not permitted to request teachers by name, or have personal consulting sessions with them before the start of lessons.

Private Lessons begin!

Please be sure to confirm the private lesson location and time beforehand. We will be giving you your textbooks on the first day of your private lessons.
If you suddenly have to cancel your private lesson, or need to change the time/ date of an upcoming private lesson, you must let us know no later than two business days (Kaplan business days) in advance, in order to reschedule. If you choose to cancel your private lesson the day before, or on the day of the lesson, the private lesson will automatically be considered completed, and will not be possible to make-up.
