Comment to students:
Hi, my name is Anthony. I'm a new teacher at Kaplan and from January I'll be meeting a lot more of you and getting to know you. I have been in Japan for about nine years. Before that I was teaching English in Brighton, UK for five years. Please feel free to approach me and have a chat at any time you see me in either the Ginza or Omotesando schools.
Hobbies:
I spend most of my spare time reading novels or current affairs, studying history, playing the piano, watching sport, eating, drinking, and trying to control my two crazy young daughters.
How do you try to make your class rewarding to students?
I call my teaching style "strict but friendly!" By "strict" I mean that I will correct any mistakes you make to help make your English more natural and encourage you to just try to say what you want to say without worrying about errors. Most of all, I want to emphasize that learning English is fun and rewarding. It can open a new world to you. Even studying for TOEIC or TOEFL can be really interesting, believe me!
Motto:
I have two mottos-
"Everything is easy!"
This means that even though learning English (or life in general) sometimes seems so tough and frustrating, if you try not to worry, get stressed or nervous it can all become much easier than you think.
"Don't waste a minute!"
Life is short. Fill your time constructively- read, study, socialize, be active and creative. Learning never stops. Don't watch rubbish TV!
