Harry Potter. Everyone loves Harry Potter. I have read those books many, many times. I was lucky; I never read them while they were still being written so when I started reading them, five had already been published. I read the first one just by chance. It was sitting in my old office and I picked it up for something to read on the train. Once I read the first one, I was hooked, and went through the next four so quickly. I did not realise that they were not all published at that time. When I got to the end of the fifth one, I started searching the bookstores for the sixth book. I couldn't find it and mentioned this to my friend, who told me it was not published year and that I would have to wait until the next year. "The next year?!" I said. I couldn't stand the waiting, but I guess that was the experience of many people.
Of course, they are all available now. You can read all of them at your leisure. I recommend trying Harry Potter for your English practice. The story is great fun, and I am sure you will enjoy reading them. There is just one thing you should be aware of. The writer uses a lot of words that she has just made up. You might find some word that you don't know and look it up in your dictionary, but it will not be there, unless you are using a magic dictionary, a magictionary (A-HA-HA). I have had people ask me the meaning of the word "muggle" because it wasn't in their dictionary! A muggle in Harry Potter is a word for a non-magical person. J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter just invented the word for the book, but since the book has become so popular many people now know and use the word. One of my friends uses it as a mild insult for people who he thinks are boring!
Anyway, I recommend reading the Harry Potter books. You can get them almost anywhere. Don't worry too much about the unusual vocabulary, leave your dictionary alone and just enjoy the story.
